Due to our clients’ requirements and project timeframes, only candidates who are legally entitled to work in New Zealand will be considered for this role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operating and maintaining excavators (1.5T to 30T) and other heavy machinery safely and efficiently on civil construction sites.
  • Performing trenching, paving preparation, backfilling, and boxing out for roads, kerbs, channels, and drainage systems.
  • Working safely in deep trenches and confined spaces, particularly around live services and utilities.
  • Assisting with deconstruction and site preparation tasks to ensure readiness for upcoming works.
  • Reading and following site plans, blueprints, and work instructions to complete tasks to the required quality standards and project deadlines.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience operating excavators, with strong knowledge of excavator operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience operating other heavy machinery, including rollers, bulldozers, Moxy dump trucks, pavers, and graders.
  • Current Class 2 or Class 4 Full Driver Licence with WTR endorsements.
  • Experience operating excavators with GPS technology is advantageous.
  • Proven experience working across a range of projects, including roading, drainage, trenching, subdivisions, and infrastructure projects.
